Emergency Vehicles
At OptiFuse we know the importance of ensuring the safety of electrical systems in emergency and fire & rescue vehicles, including ambulances, fire trucks and police cars. With ambulances, for instance, patients being transported to a hospital may need critical medical care while in the vehicle and providing that care can require high-draw medical equipment. Unreliable and unprotected power to that equipment isn’t just dangerous to the ambulance crew, but to the patient being transported.
With OptiFuse products, you can rest easy knowing that emergency vehicle electrical add-ons are protected and remain in working order when they’re called upon to save lives. Our products are built to last. They are also designed to withstand shock and vibration in harsh environments that are sometimes required of emergency vehicles. See below to determine which parts might be right for your applications.
- High Amperage Heavy Duty Circuit Breakers, installed alongside the vehicle’s battery as the primary source of power protection, are usually required for upfits and auxiliary high amp draw applications.
- Bolt-On Limiter Fuses provide overcurrent protection to the lift-and-lower mechanism of hydraulic platforms or telescopic boom lifts on fire trucks.
- Blade Fuse Blocks, in conjunction with blade fuses, are used to protect circuits that distribute power to auxiliary equipment, with up to 12 branch circuits. Indicating Fuse Blocks may be used to reduce the time required to replace a faulty fuse, with an LED light for each circuit that shines when a fuse opens. Split Fuse Blocks make it convenient to combine switched and unswitched circuits on the same block, eliminating the need for a second fuse block.
- Add-A-Fuses let you install one or two additional circuits to a vehicle’s electrical system without the need for extra blocks or holders.
- In-Line Fuse Holders are a space-saving mounting options that is effective at protecting low current add-on electrical accessories, coming in multiple wire colors and gauges.
- Blade Style Circuit Breakers, designed to fit both Mini & Regular (ATO/ATC) Style Blade Fuse Blocks and Power Distribution Modules (PDMs), are ideal in applications where down-time can be detrimental and resettability is needed.
- 10-32 Stud (Shortstop Style) Circuit Breakers are designed to withstand harsh environments, with an IP63 plastic housing for dirt, dust, and splash resistance.
